Once the patient has visited our fertility clinic and had an appointment with the doctor, they will then have the required tests. Medication will be started depending on the requirements of the patient’s treatment. What will happen next?
Egg Creation and Egg Collection
When the treatment begins, the next step is to stimulate the ovaries of the female in order to create an egg. In that stage, medicine, vitamins and injections that develop the eggs are used to obtain high quality eggs, suitable for embryo formation in the ovary. In this process, which lasts between 8-12 days, the dosage of the medicine may vary depending on the age and weight of the person. All the details about the medication and the dosage are based on the steps, duration of the treatment, and the specific needs of the patient. Our team is very careful while planning each medical protocol. Sometimes, we may require additional tests in order to proceed with certain steps.
The process of collecting eggs, which is done under general anesthesia, is the third step. During the process of collecting eggs, sperm is taken from the male. Before this process, sexual abstinence for 3-4 days is recommended for the male. After the collection of the sperm and eggs, the fertilization process begins. Eggs and sperm are combined in the laboratory depending on the preference of the traditional IVF or microinjection method.
