IVF Treatment Process

Egg Creation and Egg Collection

When the treatment starts, the second step is to stimulate the ovaries of the woman and to create an egg. In that stage, medicine, vitamin and injections, which develop the eggs, are used to obtain high quality eggs, suitable for embryo formation, in the ovary. In this process, which lasts between 8 to 12 days, the dosage of the medicine may vary depending on the age and weight of the person.

The process of collecting eggs, which is done under general anesthesia, is the third step. During the process of collecting eggs, the sperm is taken from the male. Before this process, sexual abstinence for between 3 and 4 days is recommended for the male. After the collection of the sperm and eggs, the combination process starts. Eggs and sperm are combined in the laboratory depending on the preference of the traditional IVF method or microinjection method.
